WEDDING DAY JEWELRY DOS & DON’TS

Biyeshamlao,

On your wedding day, even the smallest details matter. There's a fine line between looking perfectly accessorized and looking like a whole jewelry shop! From the engagement ring to your anklets, these accessories are made to make a memorable finishing touch. Since bridal jewelry is the key element that ties your outfit together on your special day, we've created the ultimate do's and don'ts guide to perfecting your bridal jewelry:

DO give yourself enough time!

Bridal jewelry is not just another accessory. Make sure you’ve had enough time to go for jewelry shopping. The jewelry ties the whole look together, so make sure you go well in advance so you can look for what you really want, and can compare prices. If you want anything customized you should expect it to take a while, up to 3 months. You’ll definitely want to wear all your accessories when you’re getting your bridal outfit fitted, so again, it’s important to have it ready on time.

DON'T compromise personal style.

On a day where your emotions are going to be hysterical, you definitely don’t want to leave your comfort zone. This isn't the day to try something new or go out of your comfort zone. Most of the brides go wrong when they tend to follow the trend blindly, rather than expressing their true style. Go for classic beauty, but above all, wear something that you love-something that tells about your story.

DO mix something old and something new.

Long gone are the days where everything is matchy-matchy. Boring! You don’t have to get a full set of matching jewelry. As long as the finish of the jewelry is similar, it is completely acceptable to wear something that came from your great grandmother and something from your in-laws.

DON'T over-accessorize.

Less is more. You don’t want to wear all the jewelry you ever had! Choose one aspect you would like to accentuate, and have some small additions if you feel the need to do so. If you’re not sure, you can never go wrong with the classics: gold earrings, heavy necklace and bracelet-bangle combo.

DO buy something you’ll wear again

Unlike almost everything else at your wedding, you’ll definitely be able to wear your bridal jewelry again – and on multiple occasions. This is a big investment so try to wear them often even try to match with everyday outfit.

DON'T cut corners

Stick to your budget, but be wise about it. Since this is going to be one of your biggest investments and you are likely to wear it even after your wedding make sure you buy quality jewelries!

Last but not the least, don’t forget to wear the most expensive jewelry, your smile!
